Smoothie Recipe

It dawned on me the other day that I know the cure to feeling like garbage every day… That is diet.

I went on a mostly smoothie and raw food diet for a solid 3 weeks last summer and I felt amazing! It wasn’t planned, I didn’t have a goal in mind I just felt inspired to do that. As it always seems to, life events pushed me off of the “smoothie kick” and I now just have smoothies and raw food sometimes.

I have been feeling sick, headachey, TIRED, so very TIRED on the daily. I have extreme energy swings every single day where when I get so fatigued I literally can’t do anything besides lay down. I’ve been sleeping a lot too, I can’t seem to get out of bed in the mornings. It takes a monumental effort to do so.

I realized that I know how to fix all of this…and that is improving my diet. I already get a good amount of exercise and sleep, so it is time to start eating better.

I have gone through periods of eating extremely healthy off and on for years, it seems to be kind of cyclical. I am learning to ride that wave and to use radical self acceptance for when I might not be eating “perfectly”. So this is nothing new for me, I’ve eaten all raw diets for months, I’ve gone vegan for 8 months. But right now, I’m sick of feeling sick.

I made a 32 oz. jar of juice this morning with oranges, apples, spinach, raspberries, cucumbers, carrots, and celery, and it was delicious!

Now I’m having a banana, strawberry, raw vegan protein powder, almond milk smoothie with pepitas sprinkled on top…. and it is so good! The pepitas are roasted and salted which make it amazing in the sweetness of the strawberry and bananas.
