Intermittent Fasting

IF and General Update

Hello, and happy March! I personally struggle a lot in the wintertime. I live in Iowa and the winters are brutal. It definitely increases my depression and makes it hard to be super productive (even though I am pretty damn productive).

As for this blog, I’m going to be honest, I don’t know what specific niche I’m going to go with. I used to blog on a different website and I would just type stream of conscious type blogs. It was more for me than for the viewers really. I think I’m going to add more “freestyle” posts in here and then see where it takes me.

I’m still doing Intermittent Fasting and have been for well over a year. I don’t do 16 hours every night but in between 14 and 16 hours. I originally did this for health benefits (see my previous blog posts about the benefits) but did lose some weight….at the beginning. I didn’t have a goal to lose weight but it was a nice bonus. This winter due to less activity and turning into a hibernating bear I ate more and gained a little weight back, but as I’m becoming more active again it seems to be falling off again. I don’t focus too much on weight and I have made peace with a body that’s weight fluctuates somewhat.

I started IF mostly for the anti-inflammatory benefits and I think I am going to continue it for as long as possible because I love the structure it adds to my day. I get distracted by food sometimes and it can become my focus AND food makes me incredibly tired and subdued so I have to rest after eating. With fasting almost 16 hours per day that causes me to have time where I am absolutely doing something else.

I actually have a bad headache today (from PMS) so this blog might be all for today. I would really like to get back into the swing of blogging again and I have a lot of ideas for blog posts!
