Potential Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Man, it’s the week of appointments for me… I am currently at a Geneticist Clinic. They may or may not tell me that I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have a feeling I’ll leave here with no answers but hopefully we’ll at least narrow some things down 🤔 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve had a couple appointments here already and they had me do a cheek swab to test for 12 of the possible types of Ehlers Danlos, my results were negative. There is I believe just 1 type of EDS that shows up negative on the swab test so we’ll work on determining if that is or is not the case with me.

Ramblings About Denver Traffic and Getting My Hair Done

I’m driving into Denver 3 days in a row starting today. I live pretty close to Denver but traffic can be totally nuts sometimes on I-25 (well basically all the time). Today it’s for this appointment. Tomorrow I will be getting my hair done… at a place I haven’t been before. I’m a tad freaked out not going to lie. Even when I stuck with the same hair stylist for a couple years, the last 2 appointments I didn’t get what I wanted.

I followed up with her to explain that it wasn’t as light as I asked for and she offered no way to remedy it… I believe most hair stylists would offer to lighten it a little more or something! She basically explained that we just did a partial highlight and if I want more of an all over look we can do all-over highlights next time. I explained that I don’t want an all over look, I love my natural darker blond to show through and I just want the hair that was highlighted to be lighter. Her response was, we can do a full highlight next time. Eye roll → 🙄 I didn’t even mention that I hated the haircut…

Geneticist and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

The doctor appointment was interesting. He determined that I don’t have Ehlers Danlos, I don’t really fit the criteria. Looking at some of my lab results with me he seemed utterly puzzled. He said that my lab results are interesting and don’t make sense. Some of the markers that are abnormal are what puzzled him. I am going to take a closer look at them myself and most likely will share here what I learn about the abnormal ones. The Geneticist is ordering a full genetic work-up, which will be interesting to see the results!

The Life Changing Butt Massage

A lot of my pain over the years is all around the left hip and as of 2 years ago, the lower back on the left side as well. The clinic I’ve been going to does 20 minute massages and good God it was life changing. All the muscles including and around the piriformis were all kinds of messed up. It is wild how much relief I got after the massage today! Even my lower back feels 80% better today than it did this morning and the past few days.
