Intermittent Fasting

Fasting and Weight Loss

Previously I posted that my weight was dropping fast. It did this summer and I wasn’t trying to lose weight at all. I’ve been content with my weight and body image for a while now and don’t aim to lose weight anymore. This summer I lost some weight and I am thinking it was due to stress and having my mind on other things. For about the past 3 weeks that previous stress is gone and I noticed I’ve been eating a lot since then. I know that some people gain weight when they’re stressed, but not me, I lose it. I think that worrying and anxiety might burn calories, and if I have something stressing me out then I am not thinking about food, therefore forgetting to eat and have a low appetite. So the past few weeks I’ve been shoveling all the food in my mouth and even taking naps here and there, which is something I never can do. I think I am relaxing now and my soul is at ease.

I started intermittent fasting in January of this year after stumbling upon a documentary called, ‘Fasting’. I do between 13-16 hour fasts every night with not fasting at all once every week or 2. I have noticed that it is hard for me to fast for 16 hours most of the time because I dislike going hungry. I am easy on myself with it and do not force myself to fast. If I am hungry then I will eat. I think fasting has been one of the most beneficial things I have done for my health in a long time. It gives my body the much needed rest to repair itself without digestion getting in the way. I also have chronic pain and inflammation which fasting is supposed to be very beneficial for.
